Blind Squirrel Games is an independent video game studio located in Orange County, CA with a second studio opening in Austin, TX. Since our founding in 2010, we have developed AAA titles for some of the industry’s most successful publishers. We are currently developing our first IP, slated for release in Q1 2020. Blind Squirrel Games combines small studio values, with big studio ambitions. Our top priority is cultivating a diverse, communicative, and creative environment that promotes growth and employee well-being.

We believe crunch culture is toxic.

The game industry is notorious for grueling hours at the expense of the mental and physical health of its workers. Crunch should not be the norm. We prioritize proper scheduling to mitigate the need for crunch and adhere to core hours of 10am to 5pm.

We believe in healthy employees.

All of our full-time employees receive healthcare. We also believe that your family should get the same coverage at the same cost. We offer several comprehensive insurance packages with very little out of pocket cost to our employees.

We believe in time off.

And what you do with that time off is none of our business. We don’t delineate between sick, vacation, or personal. Spend your PTO as you see fit. It accrues with every pay period and the longer you’re here, the more you earn.

We believe in mentorships.

Investing time to educate junior employees is mutually beneficial. Many of our senior employees started in entry-level positions. We find we’re most successful when we help you grow.

We spend a lot of time together so we should make it count. From family-friendly events to workplace celebrations and social hour every Friday, we make sure your Monday through Friday isn’t all work and no play.
